Fernando BrandãoNew IQIM faculty member Fernando Brandão, the Bren Professor of Theoretical Physics, studies quantum information science – working to merge quantum mechanics and computer science. In an interview with Caltech Media, he describes his work exploring entanglement developing ways to characterize and quantify entanglement. He also considers new applications of entanglement in quantum information science and other areas of physics.

“I can’t think of a better place than Caltech to do quantum information. There are many people working on it from different angles, for example, in the intersection of quantum information and condensed-matter physics, or high-energy physics. I am very excited that I get to collaborate with them.” Read the full article
