Fernando Brandao was recognized by the APS “For outstanding achievements in entanglement theory and in the intersection of quantum computation, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum many-body physics.” He is the 2020 recipient of the Rolf Landauer and Charles H. Bennett Award in Quantum Computing

Fernando BrandãoThis award recognizes recent outstanding contributions in quantum information science, especially using quantum effects to perform computational and information-management tasks that would be impossible or infeasible by purely classical means. This is an annual award and includes a cash award and a certificate citing the contributions of the recipient. The recipient also travels to an APS meeting to receive the award and deliver an invited lecture.
