Google Doodle is joining in the World Quantum Day celebrations by demonstrating superposition.
This Doodle celebrates World Quantum Day.IQIM’s Manager of Outreach, Spiros Michalakis is the U.S.A. representative for the World Quantum Day network. Recently, he was selected to lead the world-wide coordination team for World Quantum Day, partnering with Yasser Omar, professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and president of PQI – Portuguese Quantum Institute.
World Quantum Day (held on April 14 each year) is a decentralized initiative with quantum scientists from over 65 countries participating in the network. Scientists, engineers, educators, communicators, are encouraged to develop their own activities. A broad series of events such as outreach talks, exhibitions, lab tours, panel discussions, artistic creations, etc. comes together through the network to promote broader participation.
